Based on Damon Runyon’s colourful tales of Broadway gamblers in 1940s New York, the show boasts such glorious numbers as Luck Be a Lady, I’ll Know, Adelaide’s Lament and Fugue for Tinhorns. Nathan Detroit’s long-standing engagement to showgirl Miss Adelaide is played out against Sky Masterson’s bet to woo straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown.
