Luck? I don't know anything about luck. I've never banked on it, and I'm afraid of people who do. Luck to me is something else: Hard work -- and realizing what is opportunity and what isn't. |

An aspect of learning in William Brookes School is the rich locality in which it is fortunately placed. The peaceful town of Much Wenlock has a long
history which is striking and unspoilt. Wenlock Edge, once a barrier reef, provides fine views over Shropshire fields and hills and is an important
fossil-rich ridge. The school, named after Dr William Penny Brookes, proudly and actively supports the Olympic principles of personal excellence which
he strongly influenced.

| OLYMPISM |
|
A connection with the Olympics may be a surprise to many but the work of William Penny Brookes in setting up an annual Much Wenlock Games was influential.

| HISTORY |

A history of education in the locality is linked to events in time to give glimpses of how schooling has changed. It's interesting to look back as well as forwards.
